There is danger, suspense, drama, action, adventure, twists/turns, intrigue, enemies/terrorists, betrayal, trust issues, violence, romance, passion and love.This is a very different type of shifter story that tells us that shifters are dangerous when stressed out and can forced them to change. When that happens they can hurt someone because they are disoriented for the first few minutes. In this book we have a bear shifter who just happens to be the new mayor of New Orleans, a human female who becomes his new temporary assistant, and the Human Order which is a new terrorist organization which wants to totally eliminate all shifters. In other words, this book shows the best and the worst of how humanity acts against each other.

A great beginning to a new shifter series with captivating characters, family drama, action, adventure, domestic terrorists, paranormal elements, and so much more. I loved the chemistry, repartee and romance between Gia Carosa and New Orleans Mayor Brock Tandell. I was glued to this can't-put-down book and look forward to more stories about the Big Easy Bears. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of Brock and liked it so much, I purchased a copy to read again later.
The plot twists and drama in this story had me reading late into the night. I loved Gia and Brocks chemistry and fierce work ethic. No matter what was thrown at them they did their best to face it head on, professionally and steer their response to a peaceful resolution. So many questions through this story, why was Marsha taking a leave of absence? Who was behind this hate group? Would they succeed in spreading their chaos and hatred? Gia was a bad a** business woman who knew what she wanted in life, to succeed on her own merit. She was sassy and capable as well as attractive, a positive representation of a heroine. Brock was determined, passionate, caring and cunning, the perfect politician. His constant responses and focus on the positive and need for change while still taking care of the people most important to him in his life were just some of the many things that made him a fantastic mayor in times of conflict. I loved getting to learn about the shifter cultures and customs in this world set out by the author. A recommended read for lovers of all things shifter 😍
Gonna love this new series, even though I'm a City girl from NY, I've always had a soft spot for that New Orleans accent...I think it is sexy as sin and these bears are going to make it more so.....
Shifters have just been outed in New Orleans and bear shifter Brock Tandell is a very public figure, he is Mayoral candidate of the City, but he still wins just weeks from being outed. When he is confronted with his new temp assistant, he is taken aback by what he feels at the sight of her, but more so when he is attacked for what he is by a group who is prejudiced against shifters.
Gia Carosa, doesn't need to work her father is CEO of a very successful company that she works for, but now she feels the need to expand her knowledge and what better knowledge than working in the political sector where her father secured her a job. She was there during the incident at the airport that outed the bear shifters, but Brock proves to be quite the southern gentleman and she begins to feel things that were long dormant. But worse than her feelings for her boss is the realization that she has been used by the last person she ever expected.
I can't wait to read Jules story..
I absolutely love all the books that this author as written, can't get enough, you should come and try them out for yourself. Brock was a shifter and he was elected Mayor in New Orleans. Gia's father had a huge company and one day Gia hoped it would be hers to run, however, the only thing she had been so far in the company was administrative assistant to her father. She decided enough was enough and she approached her father about moving on and taking a diffrerent type of job to further learn different avenues in the business profession. Her father was 100% in agreement and actually got her another job starting that afternoon working for the City, Gia wasn't real happy about it when she found out it was Brock. But her father sent her there anyway and told her it was temporary and she would learn a lot and then she could come back here. Gia got her stuff together and left but wasn't happy at all. She showed up for her new job, almost fell, was helped by her new boss, was embarrassed and just wanted to go into hiding. Brock sent her home that day to regroup and come back early the next day. How did there work go, you ask, well, this will keep you intrigued, questioning, reading in hopes of finding all the answers and surprises you will definitely find but an awesome ending is also there, so come and enjoy this one, you won't want to put it down until the end.
